Petal & Stalk 2 today!
Flowers = Smiles
A friend of mine reminded me today that Petal & Stalk is 2 today! I can’t believe where the time has gone! The pictures of the P&S launch came up on Facebook in a ‘memory’ from two years ago and I started to reflect over the past few years.
Looking back at the teeny tiny pop up shop all decorated for Christmas it really makes me smile – it was a very cute little shop and I had no idea I was going to have the opportunity to relocate to the other end of the High Street a few months later and properly start the shop as we know it now!
It’s like the change of a child in the first 2 years – the changes from baby to toddler are significant. During the initial stages of P&S I was working from home, the house was trashed and the family xmas tree didn’t go up until Christmas Eve! I was shattered and awake until 3am keeping up with wreath and table decoration orders, but I loved my little festive pop up and its quirks; it was beyond teeny tiny but looked cute as a button. My fabulous friend Emma from Hattie Hatfield designed my logo and festive flyer and sourced lots of tree stumps and foliage to decorate the front of the shop.
Two years on and what a lot we have achieved! I set up Petal & Stalk on my own and now have three fantastic team members; the shop has gone from strength to strength – we’ve launched a gift card, a hand lotion and decorated the shop window in a variety of styles in the hope it not only showcases our work but also makes people smile or feel inspired – or at the least come in for a look around!
We have been invited to decorate peoples homes for parties; special occasions; Christmas trimmings; been selected to be a part of a team of top florists creating a large installation in London; teamed up with Daniella Draper to celebrate British Flowers Week and worked on numerous events, such as the Tiny Feet studio launch and many special occasion flowers.
This week we are heading to TWIA. I’m delighted that we have been shortlisted for an award and I’m extremely proud to be a regional finalist amongst some strong competition.
So, last and by no means at all least – weddings. P&S have worked on over thirty weddings over the past two years and they have been wonderful. I hadn’t expected to get any weddings in my first year! It’s amazing to have been a part of so many lovely people’s special day and I’m very grateful for this opportunity.
Above all though, thank you to all of those who have supported P&S over the past few years. There have been lots of laughs and thats what its all about really.
