We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy a very busy summer wedding season this year, with several weeks of two weddings. Lots of lovely brides, every colour scheme you could imagine, thousands of stems of flowers and many, many hours of work and love. It feels as though we’re now having a short pause until we gear up for the crazy Christmas season.

The planning is in full swing, we’re busy ordering lots of special treats, foliage, accessories, gifts and sundries to prepare us for this particularly busy season. The Christmas wreath classes are filling nicely, with one date already sold out completely. There’s lots to organise behind the scenes so we’re fully prepared. Everything from designing this year’s wreaths for sale in the shop, pre-ordering spruce and other materials and even the mundane, but important, stock checking of essential items such as carrier bags and card machine rolls. It is all required to keep us ticking over through November and December.

In the meantime, we’re taking pleasure in everything Autumn has to offer, The last of the locally grown British blooms from our friends at Old Farmhouse flowers, we’ll miss their buckets of flowers each week through the winter months. The deep orange and red foliage to create beautiful autumn wreaths, the rich hues of the seasonal flowers from this time of year. The plants we’re ordering in for your gardens, the heather and cyclamen giving a last burst of colour in the pots and borders.

Being a florist means truly leaning into the seasons and the joy each brings. For us, Autumn is a chance to slow down and reflect on the summer of weddings. Resting before we ready ourselves for November and December – bring it on!
