When I bought Petal & Stalk in May 2023, the first window display Pippa and I made was a large urn arrangement using an abundance of lilac and foliage, mostly from Pip’s garden. So, ever since then, then, seeing the lilac start to bloom in early May has always reminded me of those exciting early weeks being the brand new owner of Petal & Stalk.
As this May approached, I spoke to Holly, our wonderful apprentice, about the window and switching it up. As part of her college course, Holly has to complete various practical designs to hone her skills. Part of the coursework is to create an urn arrangement and also to create a window display. So, you can see how we ended up with the beautiful lilac urn in the shop window earlier this month.
Not only was this the perfect opportunity for Holly to learn this new skill, it has also made the lilac part of her Petal and Stalk journey.
