Whilst the bigger high street stores have been stocking Autumn homeware for a while now, we like to hold off until we’re definitely out of summer before embracing the start of the next season. So, as we said goodbye to August, and hello to September, it was time to bring some Autumn feels into Petal & Stalk.
In comes the cyclamen and autumn bedding plants outside the shop. Welcoming the rich reds and contrasting silver foliage. We’re still enjoying the last of the British blooms from our friends at Old Farmhouse flowers. The weather has not been kind to British flower growers this year so we’re lucky to still be receiving the dahlias, zinnias and sunflowers. All in the dark, end of summer colours of burgandy, plum and oranage.
We’re working on the last of the season’s weddings, with a much more marked Autumn vibe to the themes and flowers used. Autumn weddings seem to be becoming more and more popular with several still to come in our diary before we really ramp into Christmas…!
And, of course, it’s time to change your front door decor and think about adding an autumn wreath. We have wreaths to purchase in store and also two wreath making classes in our flower school, if you fancy making your own.
